Application

Organic synthesis: L-Aminopropanol is used in organic synthesis for the production of various chemicals. It can react with halogenated hydrocarbons (such as iodomethane, bromoethane, etc.) to undergo alkylation reactions. For example, N-methylpyrrolidine can be obtained by reacting iodomethane with L-aminopropanol.

Emulsifier: L-Aminopropanol is also used as an emulsifier in the production of emulsions and suspensions.

Biochemical experiments and drug preparation: L-Aminopropanol is commonly used as an amino acid in biochemical experiments and drug preparation. For example, it can be used to manufacture ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that has bactericidal or bacteriostatic effects on various bacteria, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as some anaerobic bacteria.

Ligand in organic reactions: L-Aminopropanol can serve as a ligand in organic reactions and can be used to synthesize oxazoline-based organic ligands.
