Application

 

Drug synthesis: 5-aminovaleric acid is an important intermediate used in the synthesis of various drugs. For example, it can be used analgesic and antipyretic drug. Additionally, 5-aminovaleric acid can be used to synthesize local anesthetics such as  prilocaine, which are widely used in clinical settings. It is also present in certain anti-epileptic and neurologic drugs.


Agricultural field: 5-aminovaleric acid can be used as a plant growth regulator. Studies have shown that it promotes plant growth and development, enhances plant resistance and stress tolerance. It can also regulate plant flowering and fruit formation, leading to increased crop yield and quality. Therefore, 5-aminovaleric acid has important application potential in the field of plant growth regulators.


Synthesis of artificial antigens: Using 3,7-dichloro-8-quinoline carboxylic acid, oxalyl chloride, and 5-aminovaleric acid as raw materials, the corresponding artificial antigens can be synthesized for the development of polyclonal antibodies and immunoassay reagents against dichloroquinoline acid.
